Energy On The Offensive #029 - Is Your Telematic Data A Liability To You Right Now?

How a plaintiff attorney can use telematic data against you.

I have been utilizing Briant Mildenhall’s LinkedIn posts in this newsletter a lot lately, but it’s great to hear from Wile E. Coyote himself.

Takeaways:

  • Have a set-in-stone way of utilizing telematic data that everyone within leadership knows and understands.

  • Ensure you document the use of telematic data to promote safety.

One-Off Coaching Vs. Professional Development Plan

I am a believer in using telematic data to coach drivers on a behavior pattern not one single event. Tell drivers, “We are seeing a behavior of speeding. I don’t want to argue over each individual alert, but we care about you getting home safe to your family and keeping other families on the road safe.” Make it about the people.

To take it to the next level, I recommend creating a multi-week plan to pour into the driver rather than a one-off conversation. Make the plan documented and have it involve several different individuals in management who talk with the driver. This has the best chance to change behavior.
